Las Vegas has just been quite just a teeny weeny bit when celebrating holidays on the onset of pandemic as they would follow the “stay safe, stay open” protocol with its dazzling lights and fun events.

March Madness

First Four:March 18

1st/ 2ndRounds:March 19 – 22

Sweet 16:March 27 and March 28

Elite 8:March 29 and March 30

Some people choose to stay at home, but most want to see the action for real. During these times, casinos are packed, hotel gets pricier as tourists flock to Las Vegas and witness these fun events.

Basketball enthusiasts are itching to bet on games and participate in the festivities.

LasVegasthenandnowupdated, “There is much uncertainty around March Madness in Las Vegas in 2021 due to the ongoing public health crisis. Capacity restrictions are currently in place as part of Nevada’s Pause, and we are unsure when/if those will be lifted. Due to that uncertainty, many typical party spots are already calling 2021’s tournament quits, and others plan to operate under whatever restrictions exist.

Additionally, the dates of the opening weekend are still in flux. While Selection Sunday and Final Four dates are set, the NCAA has not yet finalized the dates of the first and second rounds. Given all the uncertainty, we will not be updating the list of parties for 2021, however, it can still serve as a guide to point you in the right direction if you are still traveling to Vegas.”

With millions of crowd planning to be part of this March Madness it is better to be prepared. Facebook gives a lot of information of where safe to go. Also, you might want to go off the Strip to avoid the huge crowd. There are good spots off the boulevard with the goings on at venues.

October – Nevada Day

Nevada Day commemorates the admission of the state of Nevada into the Union on October 31st 1864, when it became the 36th state in the Union. It’s all about the fabulous parade! Though they canceled the grand parade in 2020 due to Covid19, this year 2021- the people are looking ahead to have it done in October.

Nevadaday.com says,“Nevada Day is more than just a parade! It is Nevada’s Heritage Celebration, a gathering of community spirit on the last week of October to salute our state’s past and look ahead to its future.

To remind the citizens how and when Nevada became a State. We are the only state to continually celebrate our historical entry into the Union, and that makes us unique.”The website is now accepting parade application for the upcoming event

Other than the parade, there are more events to look forward to that occur annually, such as golf tournaments, hot air balloon launches, and lots more.

November -Thanksgiving

If you don’t like too much crowd and the scorching heat of the sun, celebrating Thanksgiving in Las Vegas is best for you, and most stores are open at the Strip.

Bailey SchulzLas Vegas Review-Journal, “Las Vegas ranked top 5 Thanksgiving getaway despite COVID spike,”mentions that, “Despite rising COVID-19 cases and travel advisories in surrounding states, Las Vegas is poised to see some visitors over Thanksgiving weekend.

A November report from travel organizing app TripIt found Las Vegas is the fourth most-popular getaway for the holiday weekend, based on round-trip flights originating within the U.S. Last year, it ranked eighth.”

Also, the traditional turkey are available to be ordered from famous restaurants. You can take away and dine at home or enjoy a sumptuous dinner at your favorite resto that accepts a small party booking. Even though the pandemic has seemed to quiet and paused everything, people who visit Las Vegas still pursue their trip to see the grand hotels and theatre or comedy shows on this specific holiday.

Though many establishments are shutting down, the Hoover Dam walkways welcome visitors who want to head outdoors on this day. Some take advantage of the excellent temperature and hike the Red Rock or Grand Canyon.

December – Christmas Day

Despite pandemic, Las Vegas hotels and bars are extravagant with their decorations and displays, bringing up every local or tourist’s Christmas spirit.

Some establishments offer a socially-distanced family fun such as open-air dining to observe the COVID19 protocol. There are still lots of shows and buffets closed, but other restaurants are open for advanced booking.

Sierra Redmondof thePointsguy.com mentioned,For the holiday season andbeyond, visitors can expect lower capacity at popular holiday attractions. Among the most popular are rooftop ice skating at The Cosmopolitan, themed holiday pop-up bars, hotels and resorts on The Strip with fun holiday displays, the Ethel M. Chocolate Factory and an “out-of-this-world” experience at the brand-new shopping and dining complex, AREA15, which is two miles off The Strip. At AREA15 you can “hang glide” indoors, attend an immersive sound-and-light show, watch an ax dual, strap into a flight simulator and more.”

Bellagio’s dancing fountains, Las Vegas, lighted Motor speedway, the Cactus Garden, and Factory store never fail to give a hopeful boost of happiness despite this pandemic.

January – New Year’s Day

It is indeed a little quieter these days as lots of people are now opting to do virtual celebrations. A lot lesser fireworks displays and minimum partying. Associated Press ofUSA Todaypublished, “Typically, New Year’s Eve is one of the biggest parties Las Vegas sees all year, with more than 330,000 revelers, almost all hotel rooms booked and hundreds of millions of dollars pumped into the local economy.

In recent years, the night has been branded “America’s Party,” featuring live entertainment and concerts from big names like Lady Gaga and Journey, extravagant parties at nightclubs and bars, and a choreographed fireworks show launched from the roofs of casino-resorts on the Las Vegas Strip.

But this year, New Year’s Eve was scaled down. The fireworks show was canceled, replaced by a virtual celebration, implosion of a “2020” sign and a pyrotechnic show 15 minutes before midnight.”

And as mandated by the state, all people outside are wearing masks. Night clubs and establishments can only accommodate 25 percent capacity or less and casinos accepts limited players too. Some people call it a “muted” New Year’s Eve.

Super Bowl Sunday

This national sports day is practically celebrated in every bar, casino, and hotel in Las Vegas. Sin city being the capital of sports betting, crowd swarms this place to enjoy this betting day. But due to pandemic restrictions, all big events and huge gatherings are canceled. You may opt in to small venue or watch the game inside your hotel room.

Bailey SchulzLas Vegas Review-Journal, says “The Big Game won’t be quite so big in Las Vegas this year.Super Bowl Sunday, historically one of the busiest weekends in Las Vegas, is expected to fall short of its typical visitation and spending numbers. Foot traffic has yet to catch up to 2019 levels because of the pandemic, and casino floors are still operating under a 25 percent occupancy cap.

The 2019 Super Bowl brought roughly 310,000 visitors to Las Vegas and had an estimated economic impact of $425 million, according to research company Applied Analysis.

The firm did not have a comprehensive analysis on the 2020 game, but preliminary estimates show results were about 5 percent higher than the previous year.

“It’s one of those amazing things,” Applied Analysis principal Jeremy Aguero said. “Those things draw people in, even if the event isn’t taking place in Las Vegas. … It’s pretty substantial.”

But casino operators are prohibited from hosting massive crowds this year. This month, the Nevada Gaming Control Board warned that its agents would be monitoring events over Super Bowl Sunday and enforcing capacity restrictions. Properties that fail to comply can be fined or have their licenses suspended or revoked.”

This nationwide betting has always spike up hotel room prices in Las Vegas though foot traffic is expected to be low this year due to this pandemic.
